
Jennifer always dreamed of being an multi-tasking star. As a child she was a fan of a range different musical styles, including Afro-Caribbean rhythms like salsa, merengue, bachata and merengue, as well as popular music such as pop, hip-hop, and R&B. She was a huge lover of film and music. West Side Story (1961), Rita Moreno's musical that has had the most influence on her is also her biggest source of inspiration. At 5, Jennifer began taking singing and dancing lessons. Jennifer was also an entertainer, as well as a Catholic schoolgirl, attended eight years of Holy Family Catholic Primary School in The Bronx. After completing an entire four-year period, she graduated from Preston High School, an all-girls preparatory school. At high school, Jennifer was an amazing athlete, and played track and field and tennis. Her home in the Castle Hill neighbourhood was her place of residence for the bulk of her life. Jennifer moved from her home to live with her parents around the age of 18. At the time, Lopez worked at a law firm and took dance jobs in the evening.
